Painting creations
My inspiration:
Artistic tendencies such as Surrealism and Pop-Art, comics and advertising have inspired me to express my feelings and my thoughts with the brush, but in each creation I try to do something new and different, it is not my intention to copy the work of other artists but to create something aesthetic and visually interesting, in some cases I mix typographies created by me to give a poster style to the creation, this has helped me to create murals, acrylic paintings, oil paintings and watercolour paintings.

THE HOLY FAMILY By ALFONSO
Painting in acrylics 60,5 x 45,5 cm
This picture was painted at Christmas 2024 and I gave it as a gift to a friend to be displayed in her new home. It makes me think that Joseph and Mary were also immigrants like us and also many people closed their doors to them when they asked for shelter in Bethlehem, which leads us to persevere in our struggle for the love of God and our family.

"MAMA GOOD WIND AND GOOD SEA".
Painting in acrylics 60,5 x 45,5 cm
This painting, which I made in 2022 after my mother's death, was a tribute to her devotion and deep love for her children and family. It is one of the most colourful and was inspired by one of the last photographs taken of her in Colombia.

NOT EVERYTHING WANTS TO CHANGE THE TOILET ROLL.
Painting in acrylics 90 x 30 cm
This picture that I made in a slightly different format was inspired by a funny idea, because this picture was in the bathroom of my house and I didn't want to have a picture with flowers to decorate it like everybody else.

The King of sensitive rock
Freddi Mercury was born in Farrokh Bulsara in September 1946 and died in London in November 1991. He was the leader of one of the greatest English rock bands of all time (Queen). For me his music blended the sensitivity and rebelliousness of 80‘s and 90’s rock.

"Total thanks Ceraty"
Painting in acrylics 60,5 x 45,5 cm
Gustavo Cerati was the singer and guitarist of the Spanish rock band Soda Stereo, a very famous band in Latin America. The departure of Cerati was a hard blow for those of us who followed his career and fell in love listening to his ‘persiana americana’ (American shutter).

Elkin farewell!
Table painted in acrylics 40 x 30 cm
Acrylic painting 40 x 30 cm.
This is a tribute to the late singer Elkin Ramirez of the rock band Kraken. Elkin was born in Medellin - Antioquia- Colombia in October 1962 and died in January 2017. His lyrics full of inspirational messages made me listen to a lot of his music in the 90's and even today.

KURT IN UTERO
Painting in acrilics: 25,7 X 20 cm
Kurt Cobain was the musician and songwriter of one of the most iconic bands of all time (Nirvana). I came to feel a lot of affinity with this rock band, who motivated and inspired me in the 80‘s and 90’s.
This is a painting filled in plaster and painted with acrylic paints in stencil style.

LOVE IS A LOSING GAME
Painting in acrylics: 30 x 22 cm
Amy Winehouse has been and will always be one of the female voices I have most admired. Her tragic death took me by surprise. Her music brings me back memories of moments with my wife.

THE LIZARD KING
Table painted in acrylics 36 x 27 cm
The great Jim Morrison, singer of The Doors, has been music that inspires me to create, leads me to think of the excess and unbridled pleasure of adolescence.

THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
Table painted in acrylics 39,5 x 29,5 cm
It is the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that has always accompanied me somewhere in the house, it is an image that fills me with peace and tranquillity.
With this painting I won an honourable mention at the Catholic Church of Sherbrooke when I participated in the ‘God in my life’ contest.
The composition includes the image of my daughter Isabella (who was our only child at the time) and a small maple leaf, which represents Canada.
